Gestational sac measuring small. Could gestational sac measure small due to dehydration. Has anyone had a successful pregnancy after finding out their gestational sac was measuring small. Google has not made me feel any better.
6w2d today saw gestational sac yolk sac and fetal pole measuring 5w6d with cardiac motion but too small to measure. With transvaginal ultrasound an exam during which high-frequency sound waves produce an image the gestational sac can be seen very early in pregnancy when its diameter is only about 2 to 3 millimeters. This will be our rainbow baby after 3 miscarriages.

Keep in mind that doctors usually do not perform the first ultrasound until well into the second trimester of pregnancy. The baby is measuring normal with a normal hb but the sac is measuring almost 2 weeks behind. It is still measuring almost a week behind but it has been all along and my RE doesnt seem too concerned about that.
Transvaginal ultrasound has a higher sensitivity and produces clearer images than a transabdominal ultrasound. They found the heartbeat too transvaginally. They found a gestational sac measuring 48 by 42 but the doctor says the fetus is small -- about six weeks.
Would not be too concerned about sac size. The difference between the two values.

The gestational sac forms around five to seven weeks after the last menstrual period in natural cycles so it is usually visible between 3 and 5 weeks gestational age using a transvaginal ultrasound. The smaller than expected sac diameter in pregnancies 36-42 days from the last menstrual period has been reported as a predictor of spontaneous miscarriage 2. Does anyone have any experience with this. A true gestational sac can be distinguished from a pseudogestational sac by noting. A dr came in to talk to me and basically said its a waiting game I have a 5050 change of having a viable pregnancy.
